February 25 , 2005 Book Signing: Collectors – Clive Cussler, Harry Mathews, Roger Mitchell and Vinnie Terranova Wheels…A Passion for Collecting Cars

On February 25, 2005, the Mathews Collection at Road Arvada was the host site for a book signing to introduce the book, “Wheels…A Passion for Collecting Cars”. Stuart Leuthner is the creator of this exquisitely presented new book that details eleven automotive collections from around the globe, and the collectors that assembled them. Four of the collectors included in the book were actually on hand to autograph the number of books that were brought in for this event. Among them were Clive Cussler, best-selling adventure novelist, Harry Mathews, McLaren officianato, Roger Mitchell, owner of Mitchell Motors, Ltd. and collector of all things Penske, and Vinnie Terranova, owner of Mile High Harley Davidson. The foursome spent the evening stuck to their chairs with pen in hand as an estimated crowd of 400 autograph seekers left them all with writer”s cramps.

The crowd was treated to live music by Eddy Clendenning and the Blue Ribbon Boys and hors d”oeuvres prepared by our friends at Stellar Catering, and a self-guided tour of the Mathews Collection. Nobody had a real idea of just how many would attend the event so when the parking lot was filled at just after the events scheduled starting time of 4:00pm, we had a pretty good idea this would be one of the best attended events ever to be held at Road Arvada. Once again, the Mathews Clan, along with Nostalgia Racing, Inc., has proven that if there”s one thing we”re good at, it”s throwing a first-class party. Or as Mr. Cussler told Harry, “Nobody does it better, nobody!”
