1953 Vincent Comet
1953 Vincent Comet
Like its bigger siblings the Black Shadow and Rapide, the Comet engine was a stressed member of the frame. Essentially it had an upper and lower frame and the engine attached between the two. With both front and rear suspension it was unlike most bikes of the time that were only suspended on the front. This 499cc single cylinder engine produced 28hp and had a 4-speed transmission. It was built from 1935 until the company’s demise in 1955.
