1955 Corvette Roadster
1955 Chevrolet Corvette
Harvest Gold with Harvest Gold and Woodland Green Interior.
1955 is a unique year for the Corvette because very few were built, just 700,
making a 1955 Corvette second only to the 1953 in rarity. Additionally, 1955
was the first year of the V8 engine and the last year of the original body
style. The Corvette was initially available in only one color combination:
white with a red interior. Gradually more colors were added, and by 1955, five
colors were available.
This particular car is one of just 120 Harvest Gold on two-tone Harvest Gold
and Woodland Green interior cars built. This car has been in the care of the same
family since 1958, and has received a frame-off restoration to NCRS Top Flight
award-winning condition. The car is matching numbers and is reported to have covered
just 35,000 miles from new. It is well-optioned, with heater, courtesy lights,
powerglide transmission, wonderbar radio, and distributor shielding.
The car was comprehensively restored to its original specification, right down
to the two-tone interior and dark green canvas top. After the completion of the
restoration, the car was shown at a regional NCRS event in March 2012, where
the car scored 96.6 points and was awarded a Top Flight award.
