1959 Jaguar XK150 Drop Head Coupe
1959 Jaguar XK150 DHC
The XK150 was a replacement for the XK140. It came in 3 body styles; the FHC or Fixed Head Coupe, the DHC or Drop Head Coupe (convertible) or later the Roadster. Power came from a 3.4 liter (3442cc) straight 6-cylinder and produced 190hp.
With obvious DNA from the XK120 and XK140, the XK150 was significantly different. A single pain windscreen replaced the split screen on the 120 and 140 models but the most noticeable difference was the lack of drop on the side body lines at the doors. Another change was the wooden dashboard on the 140 was now covered in leather for a more elegant look and feel.
The car in the Mathews Collection is finished in black with red leather hides inside and a black top. Add the chrome wire wheels and you have classic English sports car looks. Having completed a nut and bolt restoration, this car is stunning. Only 2,672 drop head coupe were produced during the XK150’s production run.
