1962 Austin Healey 3000 MK II
Fitted with three SU carbs, this Big Healey, as the 3000’s were called, is one of only 355 BN7 models produced. The BN7 (2-seat) was produced from March of 1961 until March of 1962 when it was discontinued after the introduction of the BJ7 earlier that year which used two SU carbs for easier balancing. Classic lines that scream “I am British” from every angle make this a must have for any collector. Performance in it’s day was nothing to brag about. Zero to 60 times a fraction under 11 seconds was not going to win you many drag races. Especially going up against V-8 powered cars like a 1962 Cobra that could accelerate from a stop to 60 in 4.9 seconds. It may not have neck snapping performance but the Healey 3000,s have a long history of competition and have raced at most major tracks around the world.
More of a gentleman’s sports car, this 3000 Mark II is a pleasure to drive. The car in our collection has been restored and is in excellent condition. It runs good, sounds good and gets plenty of attention on the streets.
