1988 Ferrari Testarossa
Pininfarina started design work on the Testarossa in 1982 with criteria that had to make the designers wonder if this was a joke. Ferrari’s request? Design a car to replace the 512BB with side radiators like a race car, luggage and storage capacity of a GT car, extreme comfort and of course performance befitting the world’s premier sports car manufacturer. Mission accomplished!
The Testarossa is unmistakeably Ferrari. Performance was a standard of supercars for years to come. In fact, the Testarossa was the world’s fastest regular production car for 11 straight years.
The rare white with white leather interior car in teh Mathews Collection is a 1988 1/2 model. Apparently some mid-year upgrades made this significant. Teh car is all original except for aftermarket chrome wheels and shows 12,000 on the odometer. The original tires and wheels are in storage. With nearly 400hp the Testarossas are a treat to drive.
