2008 Audi R8
With Audi’s new R8 winning two of the three coveted Automobile Magazine’s annual awards (“2008 Automobile of the Year” and “2008 Design of the Year”) it’s easy to see why this car gets so much attention. (“Technology of the Year” was won by GM’s Two-Mode Hybrid System).
The mid-mounted 4.2 litre engine produces 420 h.p. @ 7800 rpm’s and produces 317 ft. lbs. of torque from 4500 – 6000 rpm’s. That translates to 0-60 mph in about 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 187 mph. Our car is fitted with the optional R-Tronic transmission. A direct-shift, six speed gearbox with shift-by-wire technology. It came with paddle shifters as well as a joystick gear lever combining the sportiness of a manual gearbox with the advantages of an automatic.
The LED lights, visible, illuminated engine compartment and retractable rear spoiler all add up to make this car one of the most attention getting vehicles we have. This car literally stops traffic, with people driving into our parking lot to check it out when it’s parked outside.
